Supported Experience Days
Opportunities for Young People and Adults who need support
Our aim at Ash Tree is to offer People the opportunity to develop social and practical skills, to build confidence, feel valued, respected and have a sense of wellbeing. Working as part of a team and supporting each other, we hope that new skills gained will inspire new hobbies, further education or a stepping stone towards employment.
Each day the first job is to make sure the sheep, chickens, ducks and geese are healthy, have feed, water and their area is safe and clean. Prioritising work is very important and changes throughout the seasons.
Land management is ongoing also providing new habitats and plants beneficial to wild life.
While working in the vegetable plot learn to identify tools, plants and the dreaded weeds! Make compost and feed for the plants, save seeds and take cuttings.
The craft room is the hub for decisions to be made, prioritising jobs and managing time. Craft activities using wool from the sheep and recycled fabrics. Learning new skills peg loom, pin loom weaving, knitting and much more.
Visits to the feed merchants, agricultural stores and garden centres can inspire our imagination.
